After the cargo is unloaded into the warehouse, part of the party sets up camp outside the waystation walls while others take to the dining room to gather information. When Gristle, the cook, kicks them out for the night one of the cultists seeks revenge for the murder of her friend and attacks Sariel (who she still sees as the murderer). The party easily handles the instigator and her friends that stepped in when party members became aggressive in their defense of Sariel.
Belgwyn’s final feat of brute strength to end the life of the instigator captures the awe of Wump, one of the stable boys. Between Wump’s info given later and portions of conversations in the dining hall, the party investigates the secure room once all have fallen asleep. Eventually discovering a smuggler’s tunnel the party follows it to its entrance hidden in the swamp. The party decided to return to camp and investigate further in the morning.
Returning to the trail and pushing through until late in the afternoon the group discovers a small camp at the edge of the swamp’s blackwater. Settling in for the night, the party observes several lizardfolk arrive from deep within the swamp. They befriend one of the lizardfolk that offers/asks for help in the common tongue. Snapjaw helps the party get into Rezmir’s castle fortress deep within the swamp. They learn that Azbara Jos and Rezmir are still present. Also present is a large contingency of bullywug led by Pharblex Spattergoo and a smaller contingency of cultists led by Bongray. The party had a surprise conversation with Jos, away from everyone else, and were left discussing whether or not they wanted to back the Lizardfolk in a revolt Snapjaw desperately wants help starting.
