Tobin’s Revenge finds themselves at the breakfast table with Talis in the moments after Sariel has just revealed that she has been in contact with Tethren. She attempts to explain that she was respecting Tethren and his struggles with her silence. This information does not necessarily go over well with the party, especially Seebo. Mixing in the dreams that the party experienced at Castle Naerytar, it leaves the party confused and maybe a little betrayed. Talis finds it amusing, seemingly putting together a link between a denizen of Castle Naerytar and the party’s experience. In the end Seebo removes himself from the room in anger.
The party resumes its discussions with Talis on what needs to be done to accomplish their part of the bargain. Talis reveals she has a source in the village of Parnast that will allow them to plan out the details, but in general she reveals what she knows about most of the denizens of Skyreach Castle. As the party collects themselves to travel to the village they are unable to find Seebo. Left behind is his sketching device, ring of speech, a scribbled note, and an immovable rod. All attempts to find him are in vain though his scent leads Groz back to the portals.
In the village of Parnast, Talis introduces the group to her source Oogway, a bardic Tortle. He reveals that Rezmir has ordered the castle to take off as soon as possible. He feels this will be between 1 and 3 days. The party decides to enter the castle at night when Oogway reports the grounds are usually empty and then hide until they can talk to Blagothkus, the cloud giant who owns and operates the castle in a deal with the cult.
After several hours of ‘entertainment’ by Oogway’s stories the party makes their way into the seemingly empty lower courtyard of Skyreach castle. They begin to explore the ice caves in the heart of the floating castle, discovering the massive treasure pile Rezmir and the cult have amassed for movement. In a moment of curiosity, some of the party venture out onto a large ledge overlooking the treasure. Talis took this moment to betray the group, summoning the white dragon known as Cloudchaser and outing them as the killers of Cryovain.
In what became a quick but intense battle between the party, Talis, and the dragon, the party prevailed. Beaten, exhausted, and trying to figure out the next steps the group is caught off guard with a large rumbling and jolting of the floor. Skyreach Castle is leaving Parnast for the sky.
